Why and How to Stop the Healthcare Bill

According to Ronald Reagan speaking on socialism, if we don't contact our congressmen then:

"... this program, I promise you, will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country. Until one day, as Norman Thomas said, we will awake to find that we have socialism."

Why should we stop the healthcare bill?
Because it will require Americans to either purchase health insurance or pay a fine. It will add taxes on health insurance, and implement a government-run health insurance plan.

How can we do to stop this bill?
In order for a bill to become a law it has to pass through the House of Representatives, then the Senate, and finally the President. Currently the bill is in the Senate's hands. Don't let it go any further!

1. Learn about the healthcare bill. (See links in the sidebar.)
2. Contact your congressmen and speak against it. (Even if he is against it too, give him strength as Ronald Reagan suggests in his speech.)
3. Tell your friends and family to contact their congressmen.

Ronald Reagan Speaks Against Socalized Medicine

• Norman Thomas (American Socialist) said "The American people would never vote for socialism, but ... under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program."
• The government is the owner of 19,000 businesses.
• "One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. Its very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project."

House of Representatives Passed Healthcare Bill -- Now in Hands of Senate

On November 7th, 2009 the majority of the House of Representatives votes yes for the healthcare bill. The vote was 220 for it, and 215 against it. Of those that voted for it, only one was Republican and the rest were Democrat. (Source) (Thanks to Patients First reporting on this.)

If the Senate passes the healthcare bill then it goes on to the President who can either accept or veto it.

Contact your senators!

If you don't want this bill to go through, you owe it to yourself and children to at least email your Senators and let them know your feelings.

Congressman Mike Rogers Speaks Out Against Healthcare Bill

In the below video Congressman Mike Rogers asks: "Why would we punish the part that's working to cover the part that's not?" Rogers also quotes Abraham Lincoln in saying that: "You can't make a weak man strong by making a strong man weak." He then calls it a "... government run system...".

Would The Government Arrest Millions of Americans?

Below you will find your three future healthcare options as I understand them from this email newsletter from Idaho's U.S. Congressman Mike Simpson

• Option 1: Purchase health insurance.
• Option 2: Pay a fine if you don't purchase health insurance.
• Option 3: Risk getting arrested if you don't pay the fine.

According to the newsletter the healthcare bill proposed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will require Americans to purchase health insurance but if you don't purchase it then you will have to pay a fine, and if you don't pay the fine then you can be arrested.

My Question
Would the government arrest millions of Americans? What if millions of Americans refused to purchase health insurance as well as refuse to pay the fine?

How Many Arrests Will it Take?
How many people would it take to refuse to purchase health insurance as well as the fine and get arrested before the government stops this hideous undertaking?
