Because it will require Americans to either purchase health insurance or pay a fine. It will add taxes on health insurance, and implement a government-run health insurance plan.
How can we do to stop this bill?
In order for a bill to become a law it has to pass through the House of Representatives, then the Senate, and finally the President. Currently the bill is in the Senate's hands. Don't let it go any further!
- Learn about the healthcare bill. (See links in the sidebar.)
- Contact your congressmen and speak against it. (Even if he is against it too, give him strength as Ronald Reagan suggests in his speech.)
- Tell your friends and family to contact their congressmen.
